A day spent at the Morikami Museum and Gardens in Delray Beach, Florida is part history lesson, part nature walk, part meditative experience and part culinary adventure. In short, there is something for everyone here!
If you love landscaping and gardening, you will absolutely adore this place! And if you love Japanese food, you are in for a rare treat!
Your typical day would start at 10 AM with a long, leisurely stroll through the 6 Japanese Gardens along a mile long path. Each of the 6 garden styles is representative of a specific garden design and period from Japanese history, beginning with the 9th century. These styles range from lush foliage to delight the senses, to rock gardens suitable for meditation and contemplation. Audio tours of the gardens are available for a small fee. Read More…

Evening of Kirtan
Jai Uttal with Daniel Paul and special guests The Mayapuris
Jai Uttal, a sacred music composer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and ecstatic vocalist, combines influences from India with influences from American rock and jazz, creating a stimulating and exotic multi-cultural fusion that is truly world spirit music. Having traveled extensively in India, where he met many beautiful saints and singers, Bhakti yoga became his personal path. Jai has been leading kirtans around the world for more than 30 years, creating a safe environment for people to open their hearts and voices. His new album “Kirtan Kids” was released by Sounds True on October 11, 2011.

Keith Fox, owner of The Buddha Lounge Yoga studio, hosts a monthly drum circle, open to the public on the second Sat. of each month.
Drummers of all levels including those with absolutely no previous experience, begin to gather at 7:30 PM around the bonfire. (yes I did say bonfire!) But wait! It gets better! We have poi spinners, hula hoopers, belly dancers and freestyle dancers all joining in the festivities.
This is a family friendly event so bring the kids!
Prepare to dance, drum or simply absorb the healing energy of the beautiful Ganesh Gardens with the healing vibrations created in this loving community of yogis, drummers, dancers and friends.
Dee Greenberg of Yoga Boca shows you some gentle beginners yoga postures for anyone wanting a more flexible body. These gentle stretches are perfect for beginning yoga students, seniors, those with injuries, those with chronic pack pain, soreness or stiffness and anyone with tight hamstrings.
Tight hamstrings can exacerbate and in some cases greatly contribute to low back pain as well as sciatica. Stretching the hamstrings may relieve chronic back pain and sciatica.
Hamstring stretches are also very important for athletes such as basketball players, tennis players and runners. Using a yoga tie to modify the stretch can be very beneficial to beginners or anyone with tight hamstrings.
OK, I admit it! I am still a total newbie when it comes to the “Florida Lifetyle.” Having lived down here in South Florida for less than 2 years, I am still completely smitten by the breathtaking majestical beauty of a Boca sunset. There is nothing like it! Read More…
I’ve always known that my quads were very weak and about 6 months ago I began really focusing on strengthening my quads. In spite of my advanced age (58) I knew I could do it if I set my mind to it. This wall sit may look easy but it’s a killer! I encourage you to try it and see for yourself. Please leave your comments below! I’d love to hear how you do with it. Aside from the quads, this also works the lower abdominals, inner thighs and low back.
I highly recommend this very easy to follow book to help you reach your fitness goals with minimal time investment. You can work out at home in as little as 3 minutes and achieve phenomenal results!
