While cleaning house this morning I realized that meditation can serve as an antidote to feeling like we always need to understand things and intellectualize about everything. When in fact all we really need is to learn how to “BE”.

Meditation teaches us to sit and simply experience LIFE with no agenda whatsoever. It gives us permission to simply bask in the pleasure of breathing and the pleasure of being conscious, the pleasure of living in our bodies, the pleasure of being here now.v

Once we master this experience of simply BEING, we start to notice who we really are. This can lead to self acceptance and unconditional self love. Self acceptance with unconditional self love is the spring board for change. Without embodying this consciousness – lasting change is impossible. Fleeting change is easy to achieve. It takes little effort. Lasting change requires mindfulness, discipline and intention.

Once we master the art of simply BEING and sitting with ourselves, we then have the freedom to choose who or what we want to be. Meditation opens up the creative consciousness that often lies dormant inside us. With access to this wellspring of creativity – we realize that in fact anything is possible for us in this lifetime. There is nothing stopping us from fulfilling our deepest desires and from living our dreams.

Notice your unceasing need to always understand things and to intellectualize about everything. This can be a great barrier to health and happiness. On the other hand we need logical, linear thinking in order to function and be productive. However we don’t need to be addicted to it. We need to balance it with wildly creative pursuits like dancing, singing, painting, writing, daydreaming and meditation.

Meditation Boynton BeachWe had a great meditation session today at Boynton Yoga & Wellness.

We started with grounding and conscious relaxation followed by an intense meditation on the Breath. Also there was a reading from Deepak Chopra’s Book – The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success. We focused on the first law, cultivating the Field of Pure Potentiality where we begin to experience ourselves as Pure Consciousness. And then through a guided meditation, we began to move towards that state of Pure Consciousness – The Field of Pure Potentiality. We ended by sharing about our communal experience.

Newcomers to yoga are welcome! No Experience is needed.

The basics will be taught at the beginning of each class.
We do some static poses as well as some Vinyasa flow.
The pace is moderate but you will be challenged – – and there
is also time for deep stretching and relaxation. Please call,

By using simple, time tested tools we will learn to shift our mental outlook and begin to cultivate a positive and relaxed state of mind.

This is a breath centered practice and includes:
• Breath Awareness
• 3 Part Yoga Breathing
• Mantra Meditation
• Mindfulness Meditation
• Techniques to cultivate sharp mental focus
• Various Meditation Techniques to facilitate the integration of body, mind and spirit as one
• Group Discussion & Sharing

The long term result of this practice is the ability to live fully in the present moment with clarity of mind, and a calm, even demeanor. We no longer sweat the small stuff and we’re able to maintain an ongoing contented state of mind.

Meditation has many health benefits including the prevention of high blood pressure, minimizing the effects of stress on our nervous systems and providing relief from muscular tension and pain.

Dee Greenberg RYT – 500, has been reaping the benefits of meditation since 1972. She has been practicing and evolving with the practice since that time. Dee has also studied Instinctive Meditation with Dr. Lorin Roche Ph.D. and became certified to teach Meditation in 2011.

DENIM_200Please join us for Beginners Yoga every Thursday morning at 10:15 – 11:30 AM.  We are hosted at The Highland Beach Library in their spacious Community Room featuring a beautiful hardwood floor and state of the art sound system. This is an all levels yoga class that caters to beginners and we welcome those who have never done yoga before. Seniors are  encouraged to attend. There is a strong focus on mastering the basics which are reviewed every week for newcomers.
